The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has recently installed new signs at state lines across Florida, encouraging drivers to “hurry back” as they cross into neighboring states.

The signs, which read “Hurry Back to the Free State of Florida, The Sunshine State,” were installed as of July 1st.

They are placed similarly to traditional “Welcome to Florida” signs, but are positioned for drivers leaving the state, rather than entering.

In addition, FDOT unveiled the new signs welcoming travelers to “The Free State Of Florida.”

The new signage now features messages highlighting Florida’s status as a top tourist destination, including “Hurry Back” signs that pay homage to the historic mid-century welcome centers.
