Polk County Crash On US 27 Involves Fatality; Northbound Lanes Were Affected

HAINES CITY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) and Haines City Fire Department responded to a serious crash on US 27 at Morrison Ranch Road around 3:47 PM today.

One of the vehicles involved caught fire, but firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly. PCSO confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash.

The northbound lanes of US 27 were closed or experienced significant delays until about 8:30 p.m., while crews investigated the scene.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes. All lanes are reopened.
