Two men, one from Fulton County, New York, and the other from Pennsylvania, were sentenced today for their roles in a conspiracy to commit bank robbery.
The sentences were handed down in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Luke Kenna, 44, of Gloversville, New York, received a 41-month prison sentence for conspiring to commit bank robbery and illegally possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. Michael Brown, Jr., 43, of Exton, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 37 months for his involvement in the conspiracy.

According to court documents, Kenna and Brown, along with another conspirator, Brian Tierney, planned to rob a bank branch in Johnstown, New York, in November 2022. Kenna conducted surveillance of the bank and purchased weapons for the robbery, while Tierney ordered handgun parts and sent photos of a handgun and radio jamming device to Kenna. Brown traveled to New York to participate in the surveillance with Kenna.
The sentences were announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Craig L. Apple, Sheriff of Albany County. The case was investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, with assistance from the New York State Police, Gloversville Police Department, and Johnstown Police Department.

“These sentences hold these individuals accountable for their dangerous plot to rob a bank,” said U.S. Attorney Freedman. “Thanks to the hard work of our law enforcement partners, this conspiracy was stopped before it could be carried out.”
The charges against Tierney are still pending, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty. His trial is scheduled for October 30, 2023.
