In a startling incident that unfolded during President Joe Biden’s recent visit to California, a U.S. Secret Service agent fell victim to a brazen armed robbery in California Saturday.

On a Saturday night in Tustin, a residential community in Orange County, California, a Secret Service agent was returning from a work assignment when he was approached by multiple armed assailants.
According to the Tustin Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:36 p.m. local time. During the confrontation, the agent discharged his service weapon, but it remains unknown whether any of the perpetrators were struck.

The robbers managed to steal the agent’s bag, and authorities later recovered some of the agent’s belongings in the area. A 2004 to 2006 silver Infiniti FX35 was reportedly seen fleeing the scene, but no suspects have been identified as of yet.
Thankfully, the Secret Service agent did not sustain any injuries during the encounter. However, the brazen nature of the attack has raised concerns about the potential vulnerabilities faced by federal agents, even when off-duty and not directly involved in protective details.
