Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Apprehends Suspect In June 4 Tampa Homicide

TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of Dayhan Ruenes Vinet, 32, in connection with the murder of Yalexander Jimenez Felipe, 47.

The homicide occurred in Tampa on June 4, 2024.

At 6:34 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a body in a ditch near the intersection of East Chelsea Street and Racheal Falls Drive.

Upon arrival, they found 47-year-old Yalexander Jimenez Felipe with upper body trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives apprehended Vinet on June 14th.

He is currently facing several charges, including:

  • Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon
  • Robbery with a Firearm or Deadly Weapon ($750 or More, but Less Than $20,000)
  • Dealing in Stolen Property
  • False Information on a Pawnbroker Form
