Motorcyclist Dies After U-Turn Crash In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 48-year-old man was killed in a crash that happened on Tuesday evening in St. Petersburg.

Police say at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, a 36-year-old woman was driving a silver Nissan Altima southbound on 34th Street North, attempting to make a U-turn at 5th Avenue North to return north on 34th Street North.

A black Harley Davidson Road Glide, driven by a 48-year-old man, was traveling northbound on 34th Street North.

They entered the intersection at the same time, and the car’s front passenger-side fender/bumper crashed into the motorcycle.

The motorcycle began to skid on the ground and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle on the intersection’s northeast corner.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. Police say the man was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
