A 28-year-old father of two young daughters was found dead next to his crashed gas-powered scooter in Florida Tuesday, the victim of a senseless shooting.
It was around 12:30 a.m. when the first calls came into the Melbourne Police Department, reporting the sound of gunshots in the area of Grant and Ryoland streets, according to Yahoo News.
Moments later, an officer on patrol discovered Keyeon Rashad Roberson, his lifeless body lying next to his crashed scooter. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but their efforts to revive the young man were ultimately in vain.

Amidst the chaos, a witness, who chose to remain anonymous, came forward with a harrowing account of the events that had unfolded. “It all happened so fast,” the witness recounted to Yahoo News. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.” The witness described hearing the sound of gunshots and then seeing a figure fleeing the scene shortly thereafter.
As authorities worked to secure the area and gather evidence, the identity of the victim was soon revealed. Keyeon Rashad Roberson, a 28-year-old resident of Palm Bay, Florida, had become the tragic target of this senseless act of violence.
The news of Keyeon’s death sent shockwaves through his family, who struggled to come to terms with the devastating loss.

His sister, Tasha, recounted to the outlet the harrowing experience of arriving at the crime scene and seeing her brother’s lifeless body on the ground.
“At first, I didn’t believe it until we got to the crime scene, and I seen the body on the ground,” she said. “But you never know until you actually hear the coroner speak and say that it really is your loved one.”
As the investigation into Keyeon’s death unfolded, authorities released a description of the suspected shooter based on witness accounts. The suspect was described as a man approximately six feet tall, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans at the time of the incident.

In response to the community’s growing concerns, the Melbourne Police Department took immediate action. They increased patrols in the area and set up a tip line, urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and help bring the perpetrator to justice.
