ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A bicyclist who was injured when she stepped into the path of a vehicle at 54th Avenue South and 31st Street South Tuesday has died.
Shortly after 9 p.m. that day, May 28, Haylee Concepcion. 25, of St. Petersburg, was attempting to cross 54th Avenue South in a marked crosswalk when a black Jeep made a legal left turn from 31st Street South to head east on 54th Avenue South.
Concepcion crossed in front of the Jeep and was struck. At the time, the Jeep was turning under a steady green left turn arrow.

She was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died of her injuries at the hospital on Wednesday.
The Jeep driver, Richard Wilson, 66, remained on the scene, police say.
During the crash investigation, officers determined Wilson showed signs of impairment and subsequently was arrested for driving under the influence.
