A wanted murder suspect out of Florida has been arrested in Alabama by U.S. Marshals after fleeing the state.
According to investigators, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 7 a.m., the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located Altwain Carlise, 29, in Enterprise, Alabama.
There was an active warrant out of Hillsborough County, Florida, for his arrest due to his involvement in selling drugs that led to a fatal overdose of a 23-year-old man on August 1, 2023.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay was also instrumental in this arrest. They sent several tips to our detectives, one of which led directly to Carlise’s arrest.
He is currently booked into the Coffee County Jail, facing the following charges:
- Murder in the 1st Degree, which resulted from the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance
- Trafficking in Fentanyl
- Delivery of Cocaine
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell
Carlise is also facing additional drug trafficking charges in the state of Alabama.

Their assistance in arresting this suspect has been instrumental in ensuring that justice is served.”
