Man Shoots And Kills Himself In Dade City After Fleeing Traffic Stop With Pasco Deputies

DADE CITY, Fla. – Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the death of an adult man in the Prospect Rd. and SR 52 area of Dade City, which occurred following a vehicle pursuit Tuesday evening.

According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the subject, who was known to have several violent felony warrants.

Deputies say the man did not stop, and a pursuit began.

“Eventually, the subject stopped his vehicle and immediately shot himself, resulting in his death. This is an isolated incident, and there is no public safety threat,” said PSO.

During the investigation, the Prospect Road and SR-52 area of Dade City were closed to traffic.

The man’s identity has not yet been released.
