TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a residential structure fire in Tampa on Tuesday evening.
The emergency dispatch center received 911 calls at 7:24 P.M. from individuals reporting a kitchen fire at a residence on Waycross Avenue in Tampa.
“Our first arriving units found smoke and flames coming out of the side of the house. Firefighters advanced handlines into the structure, controlling the blaze in just over 10 minutes and limiting its spread to the remainder of the house,” said HCFR.

Crews searched the residence, and no occupants were found. First responders and civilians were not injured.
The fire investigator has determined the cause to be accidental, related to cooking.
