The Statewide Prosecution Office of Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody was successful in getting a human trafficker sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Two women from New York were lured to Florida by Alan Dixon and his accomplice, Shantell Woods, where they were coerced into engaging in sexual activities.
Dixon imposed daily payment quotas, used violence to force the victims to go on dates, and kept all proceeds for the illegal activities.
“This human trafficker brought two women from New York into Florida, who were already trying to flee a violent situation, and then forced them into sex work under threats of abuse, taking the proceeds from the illicit services for himself. Human trafficking is an atrocious crime, and now, thanks to our Statewide Prosecutors, this trafficker faces a long sentence behind bars,” said Moody on Wednesday.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office investigation, Dixon recruited two victims from New York to Florida and then forced the women into sex work.
Dixon kept all proceeds from illicit services and set a quota that each victim must make per day. Dixon threatened violence if the victims did not meet the quota. Dixon’s accomplice, Woods, posted advertisements of the victims online and scheduled dates for the women.

Attorney General Moody’s OSP charged Dixon with two counts of transporting from outside the state of Florida for the purpose of human trafficking an adult and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communications device, among other charges.
