PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 60-year-old man has died in a tragic jet ski crash after running aground and being ejected from the watercraft.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday at approximately 10:55 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a single jet ski accident near the Dunedin Causeway.
According to deputies, 60-year-old Gary Nolan was traveling northbound on his 2017 Sea-Doo Personal Watercraft along the east side of Caladesi Island, towards the Dunedin Causeway.

Nolan was approaching Hurricane Pass Channel when the watercraft ran aground on a sandbar. Deputies say Nolan was ejected over the handlebars, knocking him unconscious and causing facial trauma.
Nolan was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
According to deputies, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
