PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – SPCA Tampa Bay’s 33rd Annual Pet Walk will bring the community together on Saturday, April 6, to celebrate animals and their families.
This year, Pet Walk has expanded and is set for two locations, North Straub Park in St. Petersburg and a new second location in Largo at Largo Central Park.
SPCA Tampa Bay is asking for the community’s help by signing up to become a walker at PetWalk.org and forming a Pet Walk team with your family and friends to help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets and wildlife in SPCA Tampa Bay’s care.

Pet Walk is a community party that celebrates the critical funds raised by the community leading up to the walk(s) on April 6.
In addition to the walk itself, there will be a pet costume contest with prizes, awards and recognition for top fundraisers and teams, pet products from vendors, local food trucks, and two walk courses of varying lengths depending on the comfort level of you and your pet.

The community’s support of Pet Walk helps SPCA Tampa Bay continue to provide a variety of services to Pinellas County residents, including:
- Animal adoption program: SPCA Tampa Bay cares for more than 8,000 animals admitted to the shelter each year. As a For-All shelter, SPCA Tampa Bay will not limit admission or refuse to take in a pet of any type. Adoption counselors focus heavily on matchmaking, which helps families experience a successful pet adoption and pets gain a home where they will thrive.
- Wildlife program: In addition to dogs, cats, pocket pets, and livestock, SPCA Tampa Bay also cares for wildlife at the animal shelter in Largo. Their team, in collaboration with local partners, provides medical attention and rehabilitation services for possums, blue jays, squirrels, rabbits and more animals native to Florida.
- Pebbles Food Bank: SPCA Tampa Bay’s Pebbles Food Bank provides free dog and cat food to families facing unexpected financial hardships, which can help keep families together. SPCA Tampa Bay understands that financial issues often lead a family to have to make the difficult decision to surrender a pet.
Pet Walk is presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and is one of SPCA Tampa Bay’s largest yearly fundraisers.
