BRANDON, Fla. – A Brandon man was killed in a crash that happened around 2:44 am on Sunday, troopers say.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on US-301 approaching Stannum Street when the rider failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The motorcyclist departed the roadway and collided with a utility light pole, troopers say.

The rider, a 68-year-old Brandon man, was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
