ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – A 37-year-old Zephyrhills man was killed early Friday morning after being struck by an SUV while lying on the road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 59-year-old Zephyrhills man, was traveling eastbound on Otis Allen Road.
Troopers say west of Sheppard Lane, a 37-year-old Zephyrhills man was lying in the roadway and path of the SUV.

The driver was unable to see the man lying in the roadway and, as a result, collided with him.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the driver was uninjured.
