Super Bowl LVIII smashed television records, snaring 123 million viewers, roughly 7% higher than last year’s game, which was the previous high, Variety reported on Monday.

Yet Rep. Matt Gaetz was not among them.

Gaetz told Newsmax that he skipped the thrilling matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers — which ended as only the second overtime game in Super Bowl history — because of the NFL’s wokeness.

More specifically, it was the “Black National Anthem.”

Singer Andra Day was chosen to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which the New York Post noted was written in the late 19th century by civil rights activist James Weldon Johnson to promote faith and freedom among black Americans.

This was the second consecutive year that the NFL scheduled the song before the league’s pre-eminent contest.

Some liberals were outraged that fans refused to stand for the song.

But, as Gaetz explained, “Call me old-fashioned, but I think we are one nation, under one God, with one flag.”

“We are one people. We rise and fall together. And there is so much about corporate wokeism, and this new push for social justice, that, to me, is just divisive,” he added.

Gaetz said he did not fault people who watched the Chiefs thrilling three-point victory.

Still, he preferred to vacuum and do other cleaning while other people were watching and doing their “Taylor shots,” a reference to a drinking game where people chug alcohol when singer Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City’s star tight end Travis Kelce, appeared on the screen.
