President Joe Biden and his advocates want Americans to believe that inflation is under control and shrinking because of “Bidenomics.”
But Rep Greg Steube put that claim into context on Sunday just by showing the costs of celebrating America’s favorite sporting event.
In an email to constituents, Steube noted a study last week by the American Institute for Economic Research that cataloged the cost of a tailgating party for Super Bowl LVIII.

Forget the price of being there in person. That’s the terrain of the 1-percenters. The AIER researchers noted that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas holds about 65,000 fans, and, according to Stubhub, the cost of an individual ticket ranged between $5,300 and $107,000.
The average ticket price was pegged at about $9,500. That was a 93% spike from just last year and 300% above the cost a decade ago.
But for the more than 100 million people watching the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers duke it out, the tailgating cost was also way up under Biden.
“What was once a casual affair of chips, dips, and budget-friendly beverages has transformed into a costly endeavor, as the price of groceries, alcoholic beverages, and even party supplies have surged, affecting the way fans plan to experience one of America’s most iconic sporting events,” the AIER report noted.

The group looked at the cost trends of the ingredients in the most popular Super Bowl snacks, including chicken, beef, pork, avocados, eggs, beans, potatoes, eggs and condiments, as well as pizza, alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks.
In all, AIER analyzed the cost of 49 popular foods and drinks between December 2019, under former President Donald Trump, and December 2023 under Biden.
The price of every item was up, ranging between a low of 2.1% for field-grown tomatoes to 63.3% for Grade A large eggs.
Some examples of the price hikes included: potato chips, up 41.4%; ground beef, 34.9%; boneless chicken breasts, 31.1%; bacon, 23.7%; cheese, 26.8%.
The group also estimated that the cost of having a pizza delivered was up 2.9% just within the last year.

“Due to Bidenomics, gatherings for one of America’s most iconic sporting events costs more this year,” Steube said in the email. “Prices are up on everything from cable, satellite, and live streaming television services to ground beef and potato chips, to pizza delivery!”
“The American people are experiencing the direct result of Joe Biden’s out-of-control government spending and failed economic policies,” he added. “We must get our economy back on track.”
