PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old New Port Richey man was killed in a crash that happened around 5:10 am on Thursday.
Troopers say the man was driving a Yamaha R6 motorcycle southbound on East Lake Road at a high rate of speed.
According to investigators, the man overtook and collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The man was transported to a local hospital but later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver of the Dodge, a 67-year-old Port Richey man, was not injured in the crash.
