TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – The Tarpon Springs Police Department is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a male pedestrian Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Tarpon Springs Police Department (TSPD) and Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the southbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 19, just south of Beckett Way.
The male pedestrian was identified as 38-year-old Benjamin Kasianov of Pensacola. He was pronounced deceased on-scene.

The vehicle involved was a 2008 Mercury SUV that was being driven by a 21-year-old female, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and we are asking that any witnesses please get in touch with Traffic Homicide Investigator Officer Scott Faugno at 727-937-6151 or sfaugno@tspd.us,” said TSPD.
The lanes of US19 are now reopened; please be patient and take care as traffic returns to normal.
