Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia issued a dire warning about news of a new virus threat brewing in a Chinese lab.
On Tuesday, the Georgia Republican reacted to a report of a new mutant strain of a coronavirus that reportedly killed 100% of the mice it was tested on.
As The Daily Mail reported, “Scientists in Beijing — who are linked to the Chinese military — cloned a Covid-like virus found in pangolins, known as GX_P2V, and used it to infect mice.”
“The mice had been ‘humanized,’ meaning they were engineered to express a protein found in people, with the goal being to assess how the virus might react in humans.”

The Daily Mail noted that every mouse infected by the virus died within eight days of exposure.
“The [research] team were also surprised to find high levels of viral load in the mice’s brains and eyes – suggesting the virus, despite being related to Covid, multiplies and spreads through the body in a unique way,” the outlet added.
In response, Greene argued the Chinese were developing a superweapon to threaten the rest of the world.
“This is a bio-weapon. This is unethical and dangerous to the entire world,” she posted on X.
“We already went through one lab created virus from China and the consequent mandated vaccines. This must stop and can not be allowed to happen anymore!”
Greene has condemned the original COVID-19 virus as the result of a lab leak for more than two years.
She did so again last week, following the latest in a recent string of hearings exploring the risk of COVID vaccines.
As The Washington Examiner reported, Greene actually ripped fellow Republicans for prioritizing more investigation into the origins of the virus rather than the effects of the vaccines.
“We all know that COVID came from a Chinese lab in Wuhan,” said Greene. “We don’t need to investigate the origins of COVID anymore. We need to look at the data, of which there is so much, that shows the vaccines hurt or killed thousands of Americans.”
“So many people have been affected, yet politicians here in Washington are too afraid to do anything about it,” Greene added. “Our job is to care about the issues our constituents care about.”
