TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police continue to search for the hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that claimed the life of a USPS mail carrier.
On Monday afternoon, Tampa Police responded to a fatal hit & run involving a United States Postal Service vehicle at the intersection of N. River Cove St and N. Mulberry St.
The postal carrier, 69-year-old Paul Falica, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been notified.
“Our thoughts are with Falica family during this tragic time, and our detectives will work tirelessly to find justice for Mr. Falica and his loved ones,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into this hit & run and will use all available resources to ensure that those responsible for this senseless act will be held accountable.”
Tampa Police located the suspect vehicle in the 8400 block of N. 16th St. with damage consistent with the crash. The vehicle has been impounded as evidence.
Detectives continue to develop leads and work to identify and apprehend the suspect driver.
