A city in Florida that is nearly all Hispanic may honor former President Trump or, as some liberals say, America’s former “racist in chief” with his own designated street.
At former President Donald Trump’s rally in Hialeah, Florida, on Wednesday night, Mayor Esteban “Steve” Bovo appeared with Trump and announced that next week he would ask the City Council to rename a street “President Donald J. Trump Avenue.”
Bovo noted that some council members were in the audience.
“I told you … that we were gonna do right by you, because you’ve always kept your promises to the residents of the great nation, and we’re appreciative,” Bovo told Trump.

Bovo then held up a street sign with Trump’s name on it.
The crowd began chanting “We love Trump,” as Bovo then held up a black T-shirt that said, “Hialeah loves Trump.”
“I love this,” Trump replied.
Liberals and Democrats have for years dogged Trump with claims that the former president is a racist.
That was particularly true as he implemented tough immigration policies, such as building a wall along America’s southern border and promoting deportations of illegals.
On its website, the city notes that Hialeah, the fifth-largest Florida city with roughly 240,000 residents, is 95% Hispanic.
“As a matter of fact,” the website says, “Hialeah, by percentage, is the third largest Hispanic market in the United States.”

“Moreover, due to the South Florida community’s transition into a major metropolitan area, Hialeah has become more ethnically diverse. What was once predominately a community heavily populated by residents with Cuban ethnicity, Hialeah is now home to Hispanics from a variety of ethnicities from Central and South America.”
“As a result, Hialeah has the most diversity, by percentage, of any of the top three Hispanic markets in the United States,” the city added.
Trump’s growing popularity with minorities was not limited to Hispanics.
Blaze Media reported on Wednesday that Mark Fisher, a co-founder of the Rhode Island chapter of Black Lives Matter, endorsed Trump for president in 2024.
“Everybody else sucks,” Fisher told a reporter. “I like Trump, you know. Personally, and I think right now who we have sitting in the Oval Office is just a deep disappointment, you know? I deeply have disdain for him, and I really dislike the vice president, as well.”
Meanwhile, many minorities agree with Fisher.
As the Tampa Free Press reported earlier this week, President Joe Biden “is bleeding support among Hispanic voters and Black voters — especially younger ones, and especially in swing states.”
The support for that claim was data in a recent New York Times poll of six swing states that all went for Biden in 2020.
Trump leads in five of them, running between four and 11 points ahead of Biden. In Wisconsin, the only state in Biden’s corner at the moment, the incumbent leads by just one point. Wisconsin was also the whitest of the half-dozen states surveyed by the Times.
“Biden’s support among nonwhite voters dropped 33 points [in those states] compared to 2020 results,” Axios noted. “In one fascinating way, Biden is morphing into Trump when it comes to his base: It’s old and white voters who seem most solid in their support.”
“The more diverse a state, the worse Biden does,” Axios added.
