Festive Holiday Performances Coming To New Tampa Performing Arts Center

New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC) is presenting a lineup of holiday events and performances sure to spread holiday cheer starting Thursday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 19. Mark your calendars and grab your tickets for the following events:  

A Holiday Big Band Extravaganza with Florida Jazz Express on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.  
Deck the halls with great live music to celebrate the holiday season. The Florida Jazz Express big band will perform modern and classic arrangements of your holiday favorites. The band is comprised of the busiest musicians in the state with resumes that include performing with some of the world’s top entertainers. Enjoy a drink at the full bar while you take in the holiday music.  

Tickets are $15 for a table seat and $13 for a theater seat, and can be purchased at NewTampaArtsCenter.org/Tickets

Kids Film Series: The Muppet Christmas Carol on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m.  
NTPAC’s state-of-the-art theater will screen The Muppet Christmas Carol. The Muppets’ rendition of Dickens’ classic tale puts a unique twist on that fateful Christmas Eve, when Scrooge, played by Michael Caine, is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Together with kind, humble Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) and his family, the spirits open Scrooge’s eyes – and his heart –  to the true meaning of Christmas. 

General admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased at NewTampaArtsCenter.org/Tickets

Winter Wonder: ATLAS Modern Ballet and New Tampa Players on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. Winter Wonder is a holiday celebration of dance and song by ATLAS Modern Ballet in collaboration with New Tampa Players. Four aspects of the holiday season – Peace, Light, Magic, and Cheer – are each brought to life on stage with a unique atmosphere and energy, and matching dance and musical styles. Vocal selections include holiday classics and new favorites from talented New Tampa Players performers, while ATLAS dancers weave together a wide range of dance styles and choreography to embody the spirit of the season.

Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony Chorus: Sounds of the Season on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.   
Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony is an award-winning 50-member men’s a cappella chorus specializing in the barbershop harmony style. Sounds of the Season includes a mix of secular and sacred classics woven together into a beautiful and engaging seasonal story. In addition to the full chorus sound, the concert will feature quartets and other talented ensembles to ring in the holiday season.

Tampa City Ballet’s The Nutcracker on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.  
Tampa City Ballet will bring you into the world of this classic holiday tale. Experience a magical wonderland of toy soldiers, snowflakes, battles, and of course the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and share unforgettable moments with loved ones during this special holiday tradition celebrated around the world.
