PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say that on Friday night, a vehicle speeding struck and killed a person who was riding a homemade go-kart without lights.
Around 11:40 p.m., according to troopers, the go-kart was traveling west on Hudson Avenue, east of Sisters Lane.
FHP claims that an unidentified truck or SUV passed the go-kart at a high rate of speed. According to troopers, the car struck the go-kart and continued driving.

Authorities say the go-kart driver passed away at the scene of the collision.
