GIBSONTON, Fla. – CSX is closing U.S. 41 north of Riverview Drive to permanently remove railroad tracks crossing the highway.
Traffic will be detoured using county roads, and heavy traffic is expected.
Motorists traveling northbound on U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County will be detoured onto Gibsonton Drive to U.S. 301. Southbound traffic will take Causeway Boulevard.

The work to remove the tracks is expected to take two days, and U.S. 41 should reopen Wednesday morning.
Electronic message boards and detour signs will assist motorists traveling through the detour.
