HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced the final results of their Street Crime Unit’s countywide operation, with 161 arrests.
On October 5, 2023, the Street Crimes Unit completed an ongoing countywide operation that began in August, aimed at reducing crime in Hillsborough County.
HCSO Street Crime deputies from all five patrol districts worked together during the operation.
The squads spent one day in each District.

The objective was to conduct a highly visible and proactive approach to policing to reduce and deter crime.
Results of the Street Crimes Unit Operation:
- Traffic Stops: 496
- Arrests: 161
- Seized Firearms: 20
“This operation is a testament to the tireless efforts of our Street Crimes Unit, showing that when we come together, there’s no challenge too great and no criminal too elusive,”said Sheriff Chad Chronister, “We’ll continue to stand vigilant in our pursuit of a safer, more secure community for all of our residents.”
