A 60-year-old Florida woman was arrested Saturday after biting a Deputy during a DUI investigation. There were no life-threatening injuries reported, deputies say.
Deborah Bennett Odom was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and DUI.
According to investigators, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office stopped a red Range Rover SUV near Mile Marker 82 at approximately 3:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a reckless motorist and observing the vehicle swerving on U.S. 1.

The driver, identified as 60-year-old Odom, appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of alcohol, deputies say.
Investigators say she pulled away from Deputies and attempted to unbuckle her seat belt while in the patrol vehicle.
She was taken to the Monroe County Jail where she bit and kicked a Corrections Deputy.
She was being held on a $10,000 bond.
