Former President Donald Trump suggested that “globalists” were to blame for Fox News’ shift against him, and said the network bet wrong by betting against him and supporting Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Trump also said the departure of Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch from the company should set an example for Senate Republicans to ditch Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Trump made some of the comments about Murdoch and Fox in an interview with Raheem Kassam of The National Pulse, who posted a clip on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. Kassam said the full interview would be posted next week.

Murdoch announced on Thursday that he was stepping down from the network he founded in 1996, and handing the reins to his son, Lachlan.
“Well, I wish him luck. We’ve done fine with Fox. We’ve done well with Fox over the years,” said Trump.
He also called the late Roger Ailes, the former chairman of Fox News, a “great guy” and a friend. “He did a fantastic job,” said Trump. Trump also noted that he has been well treated by individual anchors, such as Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.
But of Fox News more recently, he added, “They picked their opponents, perhaps it’s the globalists, who knows why.”
“Somehow, there’s just an edge there. There’s an overhang that you just feel there’s something missing,” he continued. “They put everything against DeSanctimonious [Desantis] and he’s not a talented person. He’s just not a talented person.”
Trump on Friday also used the retirement of the 92-year-old Murdoch to criticize McConnell.

“Many people are saying that ‘You forced Rupert Murdoch into retirement!’” Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform.
“I do not believe this is so, but while we’re at it, how about getting rid of ‘Democrat’ Mitch McConnell, who gives the Radical Left Lunatics, together with his small band of automatic ‘yes’ votes, EVERYTHING they want.”
“There is ZERO Republican Leadership in the United States Senate. MAGA!!!” Trump added.
