Flags Lowered For Former Florida Lawmaker

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor former state Rep. Dale Patchett, who died Aug. 20. Patchett, 73, served in the House from 1976 to 1990, including a stint as Republican leader.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor former state Rep. Dale Patchett, who died Aug. 20. Patchett, 73, served in the House from 1976 to 1990, including a stint as Republican leader.

After leaving the House, Patchett served as deputy secretary of what was then known as the state Department of Natural Resources and later became a lobbyist.

Flags will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset at the state Capitol, the Pasco County Courthouse and the city hall in Dade City, according to a directive issued Friday by DeSantis.
