St. Pete Beach Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Tree

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A St. Pete Beach man was killed and a St. Petersburg woman seriously injured in a crash that happened around 4:30 am on Saturday.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Pete Beach man was killed and a St. Petersburg woman seriously injured in a crash that happened around 4:30 am on Saturday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the car was traveling southbound on I-275, along the exit ramp to 54th Avenue North, when the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reason. 

Troopers say the vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a tree along the east shoulder of the ramp.

The passenger traveling in the car, 48-year-old male, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. 

The driver, a 36-year-old St. Petersburg woman, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Troopers say bot occupants were wearing seatbelts.
