HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives have arrested two youth leaders in the community for inappropriate communication or contact with minors in two separate cases.
David Robinson:
Between January 2023 and June 2023, at least two juveniles received several text messages with sexual content considered harmful. Through investigative means, detectives determined that David Tilman Robinson, 34, was the author of those messages. Robinson was employed as a youth pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City and volunteered at various Christian schools in east Hillsborough County.
“I’m disappointed and disgusted that a youth leader in our community preyed on these young teens, using his position of trust to communicate in ways that are not fitting of any adult, let alone a man of God,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “He disgraced the name of the church where he served and is challenging the faith of its parishioners due to his actions.”
David Robinson is facing nine counts of Transmission of Harmful Material to Minor.
Matthew Galhouse:
On August 25, 2023, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged an adult male with sex crimes on an underage victim. They believed the suspect committed similar crimes at his home in Hillsborough County and alerted HCSO. In the process of the investigation, HCSO detectives confirmed those accusations. Matthew Galhouse, 40, was additionally charged for his Hillsborough County crimes. Galhouse was a softball coach at the time of the abuse.
“This is an adult who took advantage of his victim and used his position of power and influence to get what he wanted,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I am grateful for the bravery of this victim who spoke out, and I plead with anyone else who may have been victimized by this softball coach or the youth pastor to please speak with our detectives. They are compassionate and kind and only want to seek justice, help connect you to any help you may need, and make sure no one else falls victim to these predators.”
Galhouse faces 12 counts of Sexual Battery (Familial or Custodial Authority), plus additional charges from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
