TAMPA, FL. – Since Oct. 13th, Police personnel has been investigating a string of ten armed robberies in the city and county limits.
On 10/19/2020, at 4:17 p.m., TPD Communication received a call for service reference to an armed robbery at Super 7 Food located at 4808 Broadway Ave E (TPD 20-482358) with a suspects matching the same description of the known robbery suspects. At 4:47 p.m., TPD Communications received an additional call for service reference an armed robbery at a convenience store located at 3402 Lake Ave E (TPD 20-482387), with the same suspect’s description.
The known suspect vehicle was located in the area of 50th Street N and 10th Ave E by officers and surveillance units followed the vehicle. A pursuit was initiated with the assistance of Air Service. The vehicle struck the curb and crashed at 2908 Lake Ave at 5:07 p.m. The two defendants fled on foot, where they were arrested after a perimeter was established with the assistance of K9.
Detectives interviewed the suspects, Jeffrey Davis Jr. and Tyee Spike, that had been taken into custody. During the interview, one of the suspects provided a full confession to multiple robbery offenses within the city and the county jurisdictions.

Davis Jr. has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Spike was charged with fleeing to elude, a hit and run traffic crash, NVDL, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The cases remain under investigation.
