POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene of a disturbance with an armed man in Fort Meade.
Update*** The suspect who was barricaded inside the home on 10th Street NE in Fort Meade is no longer barricaded, deputies say.
Deputies made entry and found him inside suffering from an unknown apparent medical condition (no trauma or injury). He is being transported to a local hospital.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed disturbance at a residence on 8th Street NE in Fort Meade at around 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Deputies say three adult males, related to each other, were inside the home when an altercation ensued.

One of the men is armed with a handgun, deputies say.
The other two male family members were able to leave the house uninjured.
“The armed suspect remains inside alone, and refuses to come out,” said Polk County Sheriff’s Office at the time.
The PCSO SWAT team has been activated.
