Florida Rep. Greg Steube: GOP Lawmakers Will Not Make A “Mockery” Of Impeaching Biden

Florida Republican Rep. Greg Steube said it’s time for House Republicans to launch the impeachment process against President Joe Biden, including calling the president himself as a witness.

Steube also argued the GOP would do so without making a “mockery” of this constitutional duty the way Democrats twice did with former President Donald Trump.

In a recent interview with Fox News host Jimmy Failla, the Sarasota Republican said the evidence of Biden’s corruption is real and actionable.

“We didn’t want to rush into impeachment like the Democrats did, and make a mockery of the complete process,” Steube told Failla. “But now you have evidence. I think it’s time to open an inquiry” once the House Judiciary Committee has all of Hunter Biden’s financial records.

With that inquiry, Steube added, Republicans would “work our way up to having the president come in and answer some tough questions.”

“At that point, I don’t see how Democrats vote against it, given all the facts that we now have,” the congressman continued.

“They will, because it’s political. But I can’t sit back as a member of Congress representing a district in the country, and say ‘Oh this OK. We’re going to have a different standard for the Biden family and we’re not going to put the country through impeachment again.”

As the Tampa Free Press has reported, Steube filed articles of impeachment for Biden in early August, citing his links to Hunter Biden’s shady overseas business deals.

Steube’s resolution identified four alleged crimes: influence peddling, obstruction of justice, fraud, and involvement in drug crimes and prostitution.

“It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden,” Steube said at the time.

“He has undermined the integrity of his office, brought disrepute on the Presidency, betrayed his trust as President, and acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice at the expense of America’s citizens. The evidence continues to mount by the day – the Biden Crime Family has personally profited off Joe’s government positions through bribery, threats, and fraud. Joe Biden must not be allowed to continue to sit in the White House, selling out our country.”
