HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate Wednesday.
According to investigators, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Detention staff at the Falkenburg Road Jail (FRJ) provided first aid to inmate Stephanie Petro, 46, after she was found unresponsive in her cell.
Petro was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
HCSO is conducting a death investigation and will follow up with the Medical Examiner’s Office for an official cause of death.
