OCALA, Fla. – A 33-year-old man has died after being struck by a train on Thursday in Ocala.
According to police, on Thursday at 12:33 p.m., the Ocala Police Department was called to the railroad crossing near the 2000 block of NE 19th Ave. due to a southbound CSX train striking a pedestrian.
“Sadly, the 33-year-old man was declared dead at the scene,” police said.

Ocala Fire Rescue also responded to the scene, police say.
The railroad crossings on NE 19th Ave. and NE 25th Ave. are currently blocked, and detours are in place.
