SAINT PETERSBURG, FL. – The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County (DOH-Pinellas) urges everyone to get their vaccine before Halloween. Although many health insurance providers cover the cost of the flu vaccine, those who are under- or uninsured may find it hard to afford it.
Join in on Flu Boo starting tonight, taking place at the St. Petersburg offices located at 205 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N. from 5 – 7 p.m.
DOH-Pinellas is again bringing back its annual Flu Boo events now in their seventh year to provide flu vaccines at no cost via a drive-thru. To make it even more convenient, this year’s vaccination clinics will be held at three locations over three days. Adults and children older than three can get flu vaccines at no cost without an appointment. Hours at these locations are 5-7 p.m.
Two more Flu Boo events are scheduled from 5 – 7 p.m. for the next two nights:
- Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Mid-County: 8751 Ulmerton Rd., Largo
- Thursday, Oct. 22, in Clearwater: 310 N. Myrtle Ave.
Vaccines are provided first-come, first-served, while supplies last. Because the vaccinations are outdoors, they are scheduled as weather conditions permit. To complete the required registration form ahead of time, go to www.PinellasHealth.com to find the screen-fillable version.
