Water Main Break Closes Portion Of North Nebraska Ave In Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. - North Nebraska Avenue is now closed between East Osborne Avenue and East Ellicott Street while the Tampa Water Department repairs a water main break.

TAMPA, Fla. – North Nebraska Avenue is now closed between East Osborne Avenue and East Ellicott Street while the Tampa Water Department repairs a water main break.

Barricades and signs are located in the area to assist with traffic flow. Drivers will see the following detours around the closure.

  • Traffic traveling eastbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hillsborough Avenue will be detoured to go on North 22nd Street.
  • Traffic traveling westbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be detoured to go northbound on U.S. 41/Florida Avenue.
  • Traffic traveling westbound on Hillsborough Avenue will be detoured to go southbound on Highland Avenue.

Please use caution when driving in the area. Modifications may be necessary during the course of the work.

The completion of the work with a return to normal traffic patterns is expected by 5pm, Thursday, July 13. The Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date to complete additional work. An update will be provided at that time.
