With the onslaught of illegal immigrants flooding the U.S. across the southern border, many Americans might be surprised that the country still has a legal immigration process.
And President Joe Biden’s admin is lowering the bar on that as well.
The Florida Standard reported on Thursday that the Biden administration is updating the test immigrants must pass en route to becoming American citizens and expects to roll out the new version by the end of the year.

Under Biden’s revised test, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will add a speaking section to grade the immigrant’s command of the English language. An official would show photos of everyday life – with images of daily activities, the weather, or food – and ask the applicant to say what the photo describes.
Left-wing activists argue that the test could hurt people with limited English-speaking skills.
Those activists are also concerned that Biden is making the test multiple choice instead of short answer.
Yet Elizabeth Jacobs, director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for stricter enforcement of immigration laws, told the Associated Press that the
Biden administration is taking the test in the “wrong direction” by making it easier.

The multiple-choice format eliminates the challenge of remembering the answers, and the test also is lighter on material that emphasizes American values, like those guaranteed by the First Amendment.
Jacobs told the AP that a tougher test ensures new citizens assimilate better with broader knowledge of civics and sufficient English language skills.
With Biden, immigrants must answer fewer questions to move closer to citizenship. They need only to get six out of 10 correct to pass.
As the AP reported, “Many [immigrants] are still shaken after former Republican President Donald Trump’s administration changed the test in 2020, making it longer and more difficult to pass.”
A passing grade under Trump was 12 out of 20.
Biden, after taking over, went back to a standard that had been implemented in 2008.
And as his administration’s open borders policies fail to control immigration, Biden has also made it easier than ever for those still seeking the legal route.
As the AP noted, “The U.S. currently has the easiest citizenship test compared to other Western countries — including Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom.”
