Bringing Your Ancestors to Life 
Using a case study approach, this presentation will explore how you can use traditional resources such as vital records, census records, land records, and newspapers to uncover the lives, experiences, and even personalities of your ancestors. Talk with a Scientist: Marine Biologist Lydia Baker

Symbiosis is a driving force in the natural world, and this is especially true in the ocean. Scientist Lydia Baker researches marine animal interactions with bacteria that are invaluable to the understanding of ecology, evolution, and the impact bacteria have on the world. Join in on the chat about bacteria and how they impact everything from deep sea anglerfish bioluminescence to coral health. Recommended for children. Making Your Job Easier with ChatGPT and Generative AI 
Tuesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. 

The world is rapidly changing with the emergence of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Bard, and GPT-4. But what are they, how can we use them productively, and when should we not use them? Professor John Licato from the USF Computer Science and Engineering gives a broad overview. 

Peter and the Wolf 
Join us for an interactive performance of the storybook ballet “Peter and the Wolf” performed by pre-professional and professional artists. Recommended for kids ages 6-12. Author Workshop with Children’s Writer Tracey Hecht 
Tuesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. 

Join “The Nocturnals” author Tracey Hecht for a live interactive writing workshop. Connect readers to the animal science that inspired the books. The workshop explores developing The Nocturnals characters based on animal physiology, creating author voice, and learning how fiction and nonfiction books are made. At the end, Hecht will answer audience questions. Recommended for ages 6-12. Register through the calendar feature at HCPLC.org
