Florida’s Sports Coast is thrilled to welcome the highly-anticipated return of Bay Scallop Season on July 1, 2023, with an extended 37-day season through August 6, 2023.
This year’s expanded Bay Scallop Season allows for 27 additional days of scalloping compared to the 10-day season in 2022. Florida’s Sports Coast, the official Tourism Office for Pasco County, encourages locals and travelers alike to take advantage of the newly-added dates and enjoy the adventurous experience that’s fun for individuals of all ages.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) requires the following for a successful scalloping season:
- Scallops must be landed within areas that are open to harvest
- Active scalloping area: All Pasco County waters and Pinellas County waters north of the Anclote Key Lighthouse, including all waters of the Anclote River
- Scallops may be collected by hand or with a landing or dip net
- Daily bag limit: Two gallons of whole bay scallops in shell or one pint of shucked per person
- Maximum of 10 gallons of scallops in shell or 1/2 gallon of bay scallop meat per vessel
- Scallops may not be possessed on waters outside of areas that are open to harvest
- Properly display a divers-down flag while in the water (see regulations)
