A deputy in Florida is being hailed a hero after spotting a dump truck driving erratically and moving in to investigate.

Volusia Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brian Walsh will be receiving a Lifesaving Award for his efforts in performing CPR on an unresponsive driver on I-95.

Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Walsh was southbound on I-95 near Oak Hill when he witnessed a dump truck running off the road and hitting the guardrail.
On approaching the truck, he found the driver slumped over at the wheel. Sgt. Walsh pulled the driver out of the truck and performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over rescue efforts.
“The driver was transported to an area hospital, where he was breathing on his own and receiving treatment. Here’s to wishing him a full and speedy recovery, and thank you Sgt. Walsh,” said VSO in a social media post.
