Conservatives who pay attention know that the left’s trajectory on an issue goes something like this: a certain controversial thing is not happening; then it is happening, but it’s rare; and then it is happening regularly, but it’s good that it is; and, finally, it is happening regularly and must be celebrated.
For instance, roughly a year ago, former White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki and the Palm Beach Post denounced the Washington Free Beacon and Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, respectively, for claiming the Biden administration was promoting a “harm reduction” program by giving away taxpayer-funded crack pipes.
Now, however, New York City, as a “public health” strategy, has unveiled “drug-themed vending machines,” according to the New York Post, and the devices are “a huge hit with local addicts.”

The drug addicts “wasted no time cleaning it out overnight as they stocked up on its free crack pipes, lip balm, and Narcan,” the Post noted on Tuesday.
“Yes, I love it,” drug user Evelyn Williams told the Post while standing at vending machine in Brooklyn. “They put it in yesterday, and it’s empty already.”
“Thank God,” Williams continued of the machine. “I’ve never OD’d, but two people in my house OD’d this year back-to-back, and I used Narcan, and they both lived.”
“We have a lot of addicts and heroin users over here,” she added. “They should re-stock it immediately!”
And so it was.
The Post reported that on Tuesday afternoon, Elan Quashie, a “drug-prevention program worker,” was already busy restocking the machine with additional drug-test strips, Narcan and condoms. Quashie told the Post that the machine would likely need to be refilled “maybe twice a day, depending on which items go quite quickly.’’
“We got a lot of positive feedback from some individuals that actually used the machine, and I think they were pleased to know that the items were actually free,” he added.

The machines are not actually free. They cost $11,000 each. And it’s unclear how much it costs taxpayers to stock them.
Residents can get the goods just by entering their ZIP code.
The Post noted that the machines are diagonally opposed to where Mayor Eric Adams was on drugs when he was a candidate in 2021.
The anti-drug former cop has installed vending machines loaded with drug paraphernalia and has recently announced that he hopes to have five “safe” drug injection sites operating by 2025 so addicts can shoot up without fear of arrest.
