Two issues have defined Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ time in Tallahassee: fighting back against “Fauci-ism” and woke ideology, especially on gender ideology.
But a new report suggests a key fundraiser for the Republican governor is a proponent of the things DeSantis routinely rails against.
The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that lobbyist Marc Lampkin, who recently organized a $1,000-a-plate dinner for DeSantis, represents drug manufacturers that make one of the two most popular COVID-19 vaccines and pharmaceuticals that block puberty for children who are transitioning.
The fundraiser is scheduled for June 23.

“It puts the Florida governor in an awkward position as he tries to ride anti-vaxxer sentiment and his record restricting gender-affirming treatment all the way to the White House,” the Daily Mail noted. “He is pressing for a grand jury investigation into Moderna and has banned transgender treatment for minors in Florida.”
In addition, according to the outlet, Lampkin has also represented Fujian Jinhua, a semiconductor maker owned by the Chinese government that in 2018 was sanctioned by the Trump administration as a security threat for allegedly seeking to steal American chip technology.
“It’s no surprise Ron DeSanctimonious would do a fundraiser with a lobbyist for a Chinese semiconductor company considering his globalist masters at the Club for No Growth have a China First trade policy,” Jason Miller, an aide for former President Donald Trump, said in a statement.

“DeSanctus’ hypocrisy surrounding the COVID vaccine, and his willingness to accept money from a representative of a company manufacturing puberty blockers, also show that DeSanctus is willing to sell out for anything if the price is right,” said Miller.
The Daily Mail noted that Lampkin’s firm collects $240,000 a year from AbbVie, which makes the puberty-blocker drug, and another $320,000 a year from Moderna.
