Walter was changing lanes when he struck Griggs’s left rear fender causing the vehicle to veer off the east side of the roadway and striking a chain link fence.
The victims, a 17-year-old male, and an 18-year-old male, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, it appears speed is a factor in the crash.
Griggs and Walter were taken into custody and are each facing two charges of vehicular homicide. Walter faces an additional charge of Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License (Death or Serious Bodily Injury).
