The FBI has confirmed that it possesses a file allegedly tying President Joe Biden to a $5 million bribery scheme, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said Wednesday, according to Breitbart News.

The file reportedly details a deal between Biden and a still-unidentified foreign national, in which money would flow in return for Biden’s input and advocacy on policy decisions.

Yet FBI Director Christopher Wray refused to release the file on Tuesday in compliance with a subpoena, prompting Republicans to consider holding Wray in contempt of Congress — the same charges faced by former Donald Trump advisers Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro for their refusal to cooperate with the Democrats’ probe of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol.

“Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer said in a statement quoted by Breitbart.

“However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.”

“While Director Wray – after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed – has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena,” Comer added.

“If the FBI fails to hand over the (file) as required by the subpoena, the House Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings.”

A day earlier, Comer, a Kentucky Republican, noted, “Today, the FBI informed the Committee that it will not provide the unclassified documents subpoenaed by the Committee. The FBI’s decision to stiff-arm Congress and hide this information from the American people is obstructionist and unacceptable.”

“The Committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and will now be taking steps to hold the FBI Director in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena. Americans deserve the truth, and the Oversight Committee will continue to demand transparency from this nation’s chief law enforcement agency,” Comer added.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Talyor Greene went further, reiterating her call that Wray be impeached.

“Wray’s refusal to comply with a subpoena for (the file) is an affront to the checks and balances of our government,” Greene tweeted Tuesday. “Wray should be impeached, and if he continues to withhold docx in this important investigation into the Biden Family, he should be held in contempt of Congress.”

Comer told Fox News on Wednesday that a bill to hold Wray in contempt could be ready by next week.
