A Florida man landed behind bars after threatening to kill a judge, saying the judge needed to ‘read the Bible.’

According to deputies, Alexander Michael Sardinas, 40, of Tavernier, was charged Tuesday with threatening to kill a Florida Keys judge.

A witness reported he was approached at approximately 8:15 a.m. near Mile Marker 92 by a man on a bicycle, later identified as Sardinas, who threatened to kill the judge.

According to MCSO, Sardinas is known to Deputies from previous law enforcement contacts and was found near Atlantic Avenue and Dove Creek Drive.

Sardinas told Deputies the judge also needed to “read the Bible.” Sardinas was taken to the Monroe County Jail without incident and is held on no bond with a previous probation violation.
