PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – An off-duty Clearwater Firefighter-medic was arrested for driving under the influence, according to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, around 9:51 p.m., deputies assigned to the Patrol Operations Bureau DUI unit arrested Todd Rushing, 31, employed with the Clearwater Fire Department as a fire medic, for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Deputies saw Rushing operating an unregistered golf cart on Skinner Boulevard in Dunedin.

Contact was made with Rushing, who exhibited signs of impairment, including an odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage and bloodshot, watery, and glassy eyes.
Rushing agreed to perform Field Sobriety Tests but performed poorly on them, deputies say.
Rushing refused to submit to a breath sample.
Rushing was arrested and charged with one count of DUI and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
