An early morning crash involving a FedEx tractor-trailer closed a portion of I-275 in Pinellas County on Saturday.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – An early morning crash involving a FedEx tractor-trailer closed a portion of I-275 in Pinellas County on Saturday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a FedEx Tractor Double-Trailer Combination was traveling southbound on I-275 along the exit ramp leading to SR-686. 

While changing from the inside to the outside lane, when the truck struck a crash attenuator located on the right shoulder.

Troopers say the driver then over-corrected the truck back across the travel lanes and struck a concrete barrier wall. 

This impact propelled a section of the barrier wall to rest in the southbound travel lanes of I-275. 

FHP says the truck partially continued over the barrier wall and overturned before coming to final rest in the travel lanes of the exit ramp. 

The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-275 until 9:11 AM. 

The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old Orlando man, suffered only minor injuries in the crash.
